I'm Oscar,
Happily married for 17 years and father of two kids, 10 and 8 years old, who keep me on my toes.
I'm a Senior Product Designer with 25 years of experience. I design solutions that make sense for people, not just products.
My career has taken me everywhere. I started in Spain, where I'm from, and I spent 20 years across Europe including a decade in London, then moved to Melbourne four years ago. This journey taught me how to work with different cultures and teams spread across the globe.
I specialise in research-driven design. I ask a lot of questions (that might sound stupid but they are not) before I start designing anything. Understanding the problem is more important than rushing to clever solutions.
I thrive when taking complex workflows and making them simple. I've worked on everything from global banking platforms to local government tools. What stays the same is my approach: listen, understand and solve.
I work well with distributed teams. Product managers in one country, engineers in another, stakeholders everywhere. Clear communication and collaborative problem-solving are just as important as good design.
When I'm not working, you'll find me working out or bush-walking, diving into all sorts of podcasts and audiobooks, or spending time with my two kids and wife.
